I love that she's unpredictable and
fearless when it comes to
fashion

Mila Kunis looks simply divine in this gorgeous, lavender Elie Saab(my favorite designer of the year) gown at the Oscars.

Biggest Beauty Trends 2011!

                                                                         Hair feathers!!
Steve Tyler, himself, is responsible for
spreading this major trend.

Pink Hair!!!

It was the battle of the pink perm and the blush bouffant at the 2011 American Music Awards for two of hollywood's biggest style risktakers.

Crazy Nails!!!

Nail designs were big on the stars, as Ri shows here with her smiley faces.
Rounded, pointy nails were among the biggest nail trends this year. Celebs such as Rihanna and Beyonce also sported the trend.

Best and Worst!(of the week)

<>  <>
Worst
Nicole, honey child, WHAT is this?
From top to bottom, dress to styling, none of this makes any sense to me..

Emma Stone, you look like a woodland nymph, and the most stylish one at that! This dress is breathtaking and I'm obsessed with those shoes.

Whats In? Sequins!

This week, as I took my tour through People mag(online) I noticed with almost obnoxious regularity that sequins are tres poular this season. Now, the 80's throwback has the definite potential for greatness but what's that old phrase..."Everthing is good in moderation."..? Yeah well, some of these startlets didn't quite get the memo.

The winners of the week. Zoe, you're proof that green sequins ain't gotta make you into the little mermaid(cough cough, Gwyneth) You look positively divine. Tay Swift, for some reason, this print works, girl. It's much less distracting and bold, in yo fac e, than Blake's. Props to the country girl. Emily, you lookin' fine sister. I love the play on sheers and sparkles...I guess this can count as colorblocking, too! Lea, I don't even know who you are, but you're working it. This has just the right amount of sparkle to make it sizzle.

<> <><> <>
These are obviously the not-so-successful sequined shirlies. Gwyneth, you look like a bejeweled mermaid. Blake, I love the accesories and silhouettes but I can't decide if I like the graphic design of your dress. Jessica.  Girl. Even a schoolgirl wouldn't wear that. And Shakira, your hips may not lie but that dress does. Can we say tacky, ladies?

Whitney Port: My favorite trendgetter

Ever since I saw the first episode of The Hills, I have been in love with Whitney Port. She was always a great support and encouragement to her Teen Vogue deskmate/fellow intern, LC and she always looked cute while doing so. She has a unique, iconic sense of style that is not easily reproduced. I have similar tastes to this mogul and aspire to be like her. She started at the bottom and slowly but surely, worked her way to the top.

Here are some of my favorite "Whitney" moments.

                                      The Top Knot.
                                             Sheer Tights.
                                                       Vintage.
                                                               Boy jeans.
                                                                               Whitney does it all.
Black sheer tights, another on of this seasons fashion trends, add warmth to this beautiful oatmeal halter making it fit for fall.
She has the top knot, all she needs are the tights! Whitney looks cute and carefree in this adorbs ensemble.

Normally, I wouldn't go for a gaudy, 80's dress like this one, but it works for her. The volume of the frock add curves to her slim, svelte frame.

Sheer and sincere, Whitney is a vision in this gorgeous vintage inspired dress and neude pumps.

Effortless chic is how I'd describe this look. She looks so cute and relaxed for her stroll through the big appple.

Letting her true prep come out, Whit looks like the hottest sorority sister on campus...but much, much more fabulous in this blush blazer and flowing locks.

Always lightening the mood, Whit shows her less layered side with this simple cream top and peach striped skirt. Her leapoard flats make for an element of suprise.
All bundled up against the big apple winds, Whit looks casual but refined. She's taking jeans and hoodies to a new level.
I think this vintage inspired look may be my all time fave from Whit! She looked flawless in the front line of the Loca Loca fashion show. (I want to rip those shoes off her feet!)
Whit is elevating her baggy boy jeans with high quality accesories ie., her tweed jacket and black, studded cutout heels.
Left: She looks cute in her sweats...that is soo wrong!
Right:On a stroll through big apple, Whit layers her knits and pairs them with leggings to make for a comfy, cozy ensemble.
Taking the black and white striped sweater to the next level with boy jeans(yet again) a hobo bag and HOT heels. (I wish I could afford Chanel!)
The crop top..one of summer 2011's hottest trends.

A little goes a long way

Has there ever been a time when you went shopping and found something that your were so excited about only to wear it once and forget about it? In the reverse, have you ever bought something because it was ok, or it seemed like a good idea only to have it later become an invaluable staple in your almost-everyday wardrobe?

<><> <><> <><>
Here we have the effervescent and ever talented,Emma Stone.
She's sporting a sweet, semi-plain sun dress but by adding her cute little
booties, her bubbly bright tote and awesome structured
bomber jacket she takes what could have been a major flub
to major fab. The addition of her accesorries transitionaed this dress
from summer to fall. The only thing I'd
add is an infinity scarf
and a pair of opaque tights.

I admit, I'm guilty of both but hey, I'm a girl and sometimes, its just so pretty, I can't resist.

I want to tell you about the best $5 I ever spent.

I was out for a day with my crew(yes, at one point in life I had one) and the girls and guys split up for our mall crawl.
I remember it being a good mall day. Alot of the stores were having promotional sales and there,I swear, was a buzz in the air. (or maybe it was all the teenage hormones that,no doubt, plague every mall across the country on a summer day) Anyways, one of m girls wanted to go into Charlotte Russe and honestly, at that point, I don't think I'd ever been in there.

Well, upon entering, we naturally headed right to the sales racks(remember promotional sales!) As I was looking through, I came across a $5 jean jacket...and I'm pretty sure I screamed. It was a great, once in a lifetime find...Okay maybe not, but that's beside the point.
Just that day i was thinking how much I wanted a jean jacket.
Now, realize, this was about 5 or 6 years ago. When I first bought the jacket, I  wore it for a while... kind of like its new, its my new favorite thing, and then I...I...forgot about it. But as with all things, I rediscovered it, and now I wear it at least three times a week. All this goes to show that a little, really has gone a long way. Denim is hot. Jackets are hot. I. win.
<><> <><> <><>
One of the hottest trends this fall, tights with shorts. I wish I could
sport it but with temps up in the 1000's(it feels),
no can freakin do. Feel free to leave all your shorts
out of winter storage this year.
Her oxfords add an unexpected twist
and the neutral background of her seperates make her mustard
scarf,pop...like a beautiful painting. All in all, sista got it going on.

Now, I know I got extremely lucky that day with the price but a few principles stand true and are proven by my experience.

     1. Always have a wishlist[BEFORE you get to the mall].
The reason you may find yourself buying things and forgetting/growing to hate them is because you are an impulse buyer. Yes, just admit it. The first step to overcoming a problem is admitting that you have one. But guess what? I am too. I find I buy, alot of the time, based on price. Like I'll scan through the racks and something that is marked $7.00 is much more likely to jump out at me than something that's say, $35. So yes, I have let a lot of things slip past me because they weren't at the bogusly low price as my famous jean jacket but I really have regretted it. Moral of this first point, have a list of things that you can't live without, forget the prices, and buy those things. In the long run, the bigger price will pay off because you will undoubtedly use those things over and over again..if only for price:]

<><> <><> <><>
Miss Simpson, embracing the
season change took her basic
white tee and black leggings
and made a chic,mom approved
ensemble by adding her awesome
leather vest,fedora and black
patent flats. The only thing
I'd've done differently...
add some cute little leapoard
loafers like Nicky Hilton>
is sporting!
 2. Now I know I said, don't look at the price, so this may seem contradictory....Always start with the sale rack. That's not to say stay there, or anything that you can even somehow fathom adding to your wardrobe. No, it's for the fact that you never know what you may find.[Yes, I'm going to bring up my jacket again...I proimse it's the last time] If you take the first tule into consideration *Always have a list* then, when you are scanning those racks, you'll know what you're looking for and in return, you won't impulse buy. Have a plan, stick to it, and whenever possible, save money. That, right there, is a "win win."

  3. Always invest in good quality accesories. You can buy a million cheap t-shirts and blouses but(excuse me while I whip out my blackness) dats eggzacly whatchu gon look, CHEAP. *Ok, back.*
T-shirts, jeans and flip flops are great if you're a 12 year old surfer but you'll never look put together and frankly, you'll never gain the respect that you want if you're always looking like a beach bum. If you love your t's, then pair them with a great jacket, or maybe a hot pair of boots, you'll go instantly from drad to fab.
The point is, well constructed and completely versatile accessories will get you the mileage that you payed for and addded to any outfit, they'll elevate the look and instantly take it from bummin to bombin.

<><> <><> <><>
I know this is out of season but the theme
of this blog was picking accessories
that elevate what could be plain.
boring. I love her quirky fedora. Her loafers
are also adorbs. This is a nice twist on
casua.l separates. And heck, if she wanted
to carry the look over to fall, she
could take inspiration^ and add tights
and a hot, well structured jacket.

It's a proven fact, a little can go a
 long,long way

The Best and Worst of 2010!

So the year 2010 is over but I would hate to move onto 2011 without looking back on the great triumphs and trip ups of the celebrity leaders in fashion. Let us look back and reflect on the things we should and should not-EVER-do.

                                                                              ~ 2010's Worst~
from worst to almost as bad

Worst outfit award goes to the world renowned Lady Gaga.Seriously Gaga, I agree with the whole save the animals thing but what's the difference between eating the meat and wearing it?

2. Ok....so Heidi is also on my favorite list for 2010 but this is just so wrong on so many different levels. Really it looks like cheap fabric that some art student bought at the goodwill and turned into a sad attempt at red carpet chic. So.So.Wrong.smh.

3. Rihanna. Girl. You look like you done got dressed in the dark... Go home and turn on the lights.

Number 4. Katy.Katy.Katy......this isn't fashion. The end

5.My biggest problem with this is the fact that she was most likely dancing provocatively which made her no doubt look like a certain type of woman... enough said.

                                                                                 ~2010's Best~
                                                                           from great to greatest
Heidi Klum looks effortless in this gray sequined dress. Why couldn't she wear something like this when she wore that polka dot mess?

This is the perfect blend of trend and romance. I love this almost as much as I love you, Tay Swift.

It's amazing how good Amy Adams looks while she's pregnant. She obviously knows how to dress... oversized or otherwise!

This ensemble is breathtaking in my opinion. Mixing white and neude was one of last years biggest trends... only the fact that she added extremely pale white skin makes for a distraction.

This is a stunning red carpet look that not just any woman could pull off, but J-lo did, expertly.

While Miley Cyrus doesn't win my vote for best role model of 2010, she does win my vote for best dressed in this gorgeous Jenny Packman (England) gown.
